The Wood River Park & Recreation Department has been working on updating the playground equipment near the Rotary shelter at Belk Park.  Originally the plan was to get much of the work done before the end of 2015, but Park & Recreation Director Jason Woody says Mother Nature had other plans.

He says with all of the rain right after Christmas, it wasn't until the following week they got the concrete poured and the equipment in place.

There are many upgrades planned for Belk Park.  Phillips 66 recently donated $100,000 to the city to help build a handicapped-accessible walking trail around Wright Lake at the park.
