The Nature Institute is gearing up for a series of walks and talks later this year that organizers hope will be well-attended.   TNI Educator Patti Brown says these hikes will be held November 9 and December 14, and will speak to the history of their site.

Brown comments

The Nature Institute was founded in 1980, but can trace its roots back at least 85 years when the Talahi Lodge was being used as a residential YWCA summer camp.  Industrialist and entrepreneur John M. Olin donated much of the land at the nature preserve.
