A local business owner who wants to move his business to downtown Alton will try and plead his case in front of the board that initially rejected his plans, in a meeting tomorrow. The Alton City Council recently added tattoo parlors to the list of businesses that could be placed in a C-4 district. Now the city’s Plan Commission will consider whether Grand Piasa Body Art should be given permission to locate at the corner of Broadway and Henry Streets.
Last month the Alton City Council went against the Plan Commission recommendation and approved the change in wording to the ordinance. Alderman Charles Brake was one of those who favored the change.

Plan Commission member Bill Stoutenborough did not support the change.

Business owner Chris Hinkle of East Alton is requesting the zoning change to allow moving his business from the Homer Adams Parkway. The issue will be discussed at the meeting to be held at 1:15pm Tuesday at Alton City Hall.
