Upper Alton will once again be host to the Pietown Gospel Music Festival this weekend. Friday night kicks off the festival with Opening Ceremonies scheduled for 6 p.m. in the back parking lot of Main Street United Methodist Church. The event will feature performances from the Salvation Army Brass Band, The Encounter Youth Choir, The New Jerusalem Singers and more.

The Festival runs Friday night from 6-9:30 and then on Saturday from 11-9.  From 4-9 on Saturday you can also check out the 3rd Annual Ron Dunning Memorial Car Cruise, with cars ranging from classics, street rods and even motorcycles.

Greg Gelzinnis, an organizer for the Festival, told the Big Z on a recent Let's Talk program where you will be able to park for this free event.
