School is back in session for most of the Riverbend and the first few days of the new year can be hectic. The Bethalto School District has a new policy for student pick up and drop off that hopes to relieve some of that tension. Under the old policy there would often times be parents double or even triple parked and the congestion even caused some rerouting of emergency services.
The new policy hopes to alleviate those issues, but as new Superintendent Dr. Jill Griffin told the Big Z, the first day of the new policy was a rocky one:

Dr. Griffin said that after some tweaks the next days pick up went much smoother, with some parents saying they shaved over 20 minutes off of the pick up time.
