Whether or not you will get a chance in November to vote on a possible property tax cap in Madison County will be in the hands of the Madison County Officers Electoral Board.  About 10,000 signatures were recently filed with the county clerk's office, but a challenge has been filed, claiming many of the names on the ballot are not those of registered voters in Madison County.

Madison County Democratic Party Chairman Mark Von Nida tells The Big Z the Electoral Board will be charged with verifying the signatures.

A challenge had to be filed within five business days of the last day to file petitions.  That challenge has been filed, but Von Nida tells says it could take a few weeks to go through the signatures.  Assuming 8,030 signatures make the cut, the issue will go to voters in the November election.
