State representatives agree on at least two ways to fix the pension systems. Representative Kelly Burke says a news bill would protect those already close to retirement by giving them enough time to make changes to their financial plans. She says the new bill would require people under the age of 45 would have to work a few more years before they can retire.
The second bill caps pensionable salaries at 113-thousand dollars, but those who make more than that will be frozen at their current salary level. The bills now head to the Senate.
