A 33-year-old Alton woman is recovering after being hit by a car near the Alton Halloween Parade route Friday night.  The unidentified woman was originally taken to a local hospital and then flown to Barnes as she was being examined for possible internal injuries.

The incident occurred around the time of the 98th Alton Halloween Parade.  A vehicle struck the woman near the intersection of Henry Street and Landmarks Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. Friday night.  She had parked in the Argosy parking lot and was attempting to cross Landmarks Boulevard when a car hit her.  The woman was transported from the scene in an ambulance, suffering what is now known to be a minor head injury and complaining of abdominal pain.  The driver was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
