The Illinois Department of Public Health is urging patients eager to try medical cannabis for one of 11 new reccomended conditions to hold off on sending in their applications. The Medical Cannabis Advisory Board has approved the drug for things like anorexia, irritable bowel syndrome, and post traumatic stress disorder, but public health spokesman Melanie Arnold says they aren't ready to accept applications from those patients yet.

That process can take months. So far the state has approved about 2,300 people to use medical cannabis.
