A fallen police officer will be remembered through the renaming of a park.  St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger announced Monday the county is finalizing the paperwork to change the name of Clydesdale Park to memorialize Blake Snyder, the St. Louis County Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty earlier this month.

Petitions signed by a number of south county residents were turned into Stenger's office last week, asking for the change. Clydesdale Park was in Snyder's patrol area and there are no restrictions regarding the renaming of that park.  Stenger says he will sign an executive order as soon as the paperwork is completed.  The 117-acre park is located at Green Park Road and Tesson Ferry Road, just north of I-270 and I-55.
