The popular Christmas Lights on Paris Drive display was the topic of some controversy late last year. The now-multiple home display has been a fixture in the D'Adrian neighborhood for a number of years, but at least two neighbors have apparently had enough of the extra traffic and distractions it brings to their street. There is an attempt at finding a solution that is agreeable to all parties, but apparently, little progress has been made over the past few months.
Godfrey Trustee Eldon "Twirp" Williams chairs the Public Safety Committee, which has been keeping an eye on the situation.
If the parties involved cannot come to an agreement, Williams says the village will then get involved. Village officials attempted to address the safety aspect of the added traffic by making Paris one-way near the display during the Christmas season.
