Illinois is taking another step to make it harder for people to abuse pain killers: placing locks on the pill bottles. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner signed a measure last week that will place numerical locking devices on prescription pain killers containing hydrocodone, which is also known as Vicodin or Norco. The measure was sponsored by State Senator Iris Martinez (D-Chicago) and will take effect January 1, 2016.
