A handful of local organizations will join forces later this year to clean up a portion of the Great River Road. Bluestem Communication will partner with the Mississippi River Network, Piasa Palisades, and the Sierra Club will receive a $600 grant from Illinois American Water to clean up a 16-mile stretch of the roadway.
llinois American Water Spokesperson Karen Cotton says their mobile education center will be on site that day to provide an additional aspect to the clean up effort.
