The Bethalto Water Plant recently went through a major upgrade, and the village is opening the doors to the facility to the public tomorrow (Wednesday). The open house will showcase all of the new equipment, which is up and running even after a recent lightning strike.
Bethalto Public Works Director Jay Kilmer says the damage was substantial.

He says the village needed a new plant in anticipation of what many see as the next big area for growth in the region. You can stop in at the facility on 9th Street in Wood River from 4-6pm Wednesday.
