A home surveillance system helped police find at least one suspect and identify three others following a Granite City home burglary this week. All four men are reportedly from north St. Louis or St. Louis County, and allegedly broke into a home Monday morning, but were thwarted when Madison County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the scene as the burglary was in progress.

Arrested yesterday by St. Louis Police was 20 year old Lennard Brown (pictured), while three other men were also charged...19 year old Trevin Brown, 24 year old Durell Dorn, and 28 year old Walter Nickels. A report from the Sheriff's Department says an off-duty St. Louis Police officer viewed the photos of the men on the TV news, and was able to identify them from prior contacts. St. Louis Police have also recovered some of the stolen items from the victims home, which was located in the first block of Paul Street in Granite City. Police say they do not have current addresses for the other three not in custody, but are working with police in St. Louis to locate them. Lennard Brown is in custody in St. Louis and awaiting extradition to Illinois. All four are charged with residential burglary, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police, and criminal damage to government supported property.
