A Godfrey restaurant that has been closed for a couple of years may be open again soon. What started as Sid's Roadhouse, and later became known as the Sycamore Inn is being prepped for a reopening soon. The current working name is The Rotten Apple.
That is the same name as a restaurant in Grafton, and there is a connection of sorts. The owner of the property in Grafton is the businessman that is hoping to reopen the restaurant in Godfrey, according to Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick.
According to the restaurant's Facebook page, they will be hiring all this week from noon-8pm. They are looking for cooks, servers, bartenders, and dishwashers, and request interested applicants apply in person. In Godfrey Village Board business, the B-5 ordinance was tabled until the March 6 meeting to give the trustees time to study possible changes to the permitted uses section of the ordinance.
