Alton Mayoral hopeful Brant Walker and his supporters will have to wait a few more days to see if his name is allowed to be on the spring ballot. The judicial review process played out Tuesday at the Madison County Courthouse in front of Associate Judge Clarence Harrison. He stated he will weigh the evidence presented by both sides, and come back with a ruling by the end of the week.
Both Walker's attorney and the Alton Municipal Officers Electoral Board's legal counsel agreed to waive further oral arguments to expedite the process. The Electoral Board has ruled Walker did not meet the requirements to run for the office - a claim Walker vehemently denies. Walker has also filed the paperwork necessary to run as a write-in candidate, in case he loses this appeal.
