As Alton works on re-branding itself, another aspect of that effort will be the elimination of the Downtown Block Parties in favor of events that last the entire weekend. This Saturday is a Pub Crawl downtown from 2pm-10pm. A $10 ticket enters you into the event. On Sunday, Main Street will be teaming with the Alton Regional Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to offer a shuttle-shopping event. The CVB will provide the shuttle bus, and it will cost $5 for you to ride the shuttle on a route of over a dozen shops during a 2 1/2 hour time frame. Shuttles leave at noon, 1:00 and 2:00.
