Riverbend Head Start and Family Services in Alton is celebrating a new partnership that is expected to breathe new life into the volunteer program. Parents of the children enrolled in the program are encouraged to volunteer in the classrooms, based on the theory that if they are involved now, they will be involved when the child moves onto kindergarten.
To augment the parent volunteers, Head Start spokesman Kristen Gosling says this new partnership is exciting.

She says having reliable volunteers is very important, because the children seem to do better when they know they can count on an adult being a certain place at a certain time. If you would like more information, call 463-5950.
