Jacoby Arts Center in Alton is the new home of a newly formed professional theater troupe.  Bankside Repertory Theatre Company, made up of six actors from the area, will kick off their first season tonight, Friday and Saturday with Call Me Waldo.  They’ll offer three more shows in December, February and April.

Company member Geoff Callaway is a theater instructor at Principia College in Elsah and has previous acting experience in St. Louis and Chicago.  He says bringing something new to the Alton area is exciting:

Callaway says the company wants to complement rather than compete with other entertainment in the area, so they tried to book shows around other schedules.  Tickets for Call Me Waldo are $15 and can be purchased at the door at Jacoby tonight, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30.  Doors open at 7pm, and seating is first come, first serve.  For more information, go to www.jacobyartscenter.org
