The Mississippi River Project has created a new program to address pollution from farms, untreated sewage and factories, and weak enforcement of water laws.  It's called the "1 Mississippi Project," and is tied to the Sierra Club locally.  The club is looking to hire an intern within the next month or so to help spread the word the collaborative effort is trying to get out to those who live, work and play on the river.

The Sierra Club's Virginia Woulfe - Beile says the intern would work one day a week, plus event days totaling an average of 20 hours a week for the duration of the summer, beginning with training in March until early October.

Woulfe - Beile comments

She says they are looking for someone with good communication skills, familiar with office computer programs, blogging, and public speaking.  For more information, call 462-6802, or follow the link at this story at
