The Mississippi River Project and its offshoot effort, the "1 Mississippi Project," is hosting a party in a couple of weeks to celebrate its first season partnering with the Sierra Club in its goal of protecting the land, water and people of the Mississippi River.  The group was founded in 2005, but just teamed up with the Sierra Club earlier this year to have a sustained presence in this area.  

The Sierra Club's Virginia Woulfe - Beile says they are hosting a celebration on the group's "Party Barge" on Monday, October 28.  The barge is normally used for educational purposes.
