One thousand dollars is too much to pay for a phone number, according to Godfrey Village trustees.  That is how much Mayor Mike McCormick says the outgoing animal control officer wants to part with his number.  A new person will be taking over animal control officer duties soon.

The position of Animal Control Officer requires that person to be self-contained, owning all of the equipment to do the job.  Until now, that equipment also included the phone.  Trustee Jerry Gibson doesn’t think keeping the old number is a priority.

With a new number apparently coming to the office, trustees agree the village should own the number going forward.  Once a new number has been obtained, it will be publicized through many platforms, including the front page of the village’s website.
