After six years at the helm, Captain Randy Tooley and his wife Melinda have left the Alton Salvation Army.  Now heading the organization locally is Lieutenant Teri Ellison, a Minnesota transplant who took over the duties late last month.  She and her husband have been appointed to head the Alton organization, fresh out of the two-year training program in Chicago.

Ellison comments

She says there are no plans to change anything major, but she would like to identify areas where there is room for improvement.  Coming up the week of August 6 is vacation bible school, which she says is open for kids from kindergarten through 6th grade.  It will be held in the evenings.  For more information, call the Alton Salvation Army at 465-7764.
