The president of St. Anthony's Health System in Alton has resigned and two sisters in key leadership positions will assume new roles in the new year. E.J. Kuiper will be moving into a job with the Hospital Sisters Health System as the Central Illinois Division President. He has been with St. Anthony's since 2006, serving as President since 2009.
Sister M. Anselma, who is currently the Vice President of Professional Services, has been named Chief Operating Officer at St. Anthony's, while Sister M. Mikela, currently the Vice President of Mission Stewardship and Patient Care Services and Chairman of the Board of St. Anthony's Health Center, will assume the role as Chief Executive Officer. Kuiper says whether or not that becomes a permanent position will be up to the hospital board.
Kuiper's last day will be January 5, 2014, and the sisters will begin their new positions on January 6.
