It’s not always easy for ex-cons to find work, but Illinois Governor Pat Quinn hopes  that changes when a pair of new laws go into affect next year.

Quinn Comments

Under the new laws businesses that hire former inmates could be eligible for a 15-hundred dollar tax credit. Another new law clears convictions for some non-violent criminals that complete a two-year stint on probation.

The laws are designed to help the former criminals adjust to life outside prison walls and to help cut back on the number of people who commit crime again.
