There’s a new set of rules when it comes to chaining your dog up outside.  Governor Quinn signed a law that requires the dog chain to be at least ten feet long and, the chain can’t weigh more than one-eighth of the dog’s body weight.  Dog owners could also spend up to six months behind bars if they don’t provide sufficient food, water, adequate shelter, and veterinary care for the animal.

Dog-owners have a little bit of time to comply with the new law, it doesn’t take effect until January 1st.
