After a brief search, the spot of Associate Judge in the Third Judicial Circuit has been filled.  Associate Judge Kyle Napp was elected circuit judge in November, so a call was put out to find a replacement.  Several qualified candidates applied, but the man chosen for the job is Neil Schroeder.

Chief Judge Ann Callis feels confident in his selection.

Callis comments

Schroeder earned his Law Degree from SIU-Carbondale in 1993, and has been an Assistant State's Attorney ever since.  From 1994 - 1998, he served in Montgomery County, at which time he moved Madison County, serving in the same role from 1998 until his new appointment.  Schroeder is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Capital Litigation Trial Bar - Lead Counsel.  The Third Judicial Circuit serves Madison and Bond Counties.
