Godfrey is getting ready to start a project to fix a culvert on Ingham Lane that could become a problem if not addressed. Ingham Lane used to connect to Godfrey Road just north of Village Hall, but now it ties in on Montclaire Avenue near the train tracks. The culvert in question is farther north, according to Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick.
He says the road has sunk about 6 inches, but by sleeving it now, the engineer thinks it can be fixed for about a third of the cost of putting in a new one. He hopes work can begin in the spring, but the Village has just put the project out for bid.
