The Godfrey Fire Protection District has a new piece of equipment that could help save your life. The ResQCPR System is a two-device system that uses a pump and a facemask in unison to help administer CPR. It is the first and only device the FDA says can improve your likelihood of survival if you suffer a non-traumatic cardiac arrest.
Fire Protection District Chief Erik Kambarian tells The Big Z with traditional CPR, you are only performing chest compressions.

Kambarian says the system has been shown to increase the likelihood of one-year survival following cardiac arrest by 49%. Godfrey is the first organization in Illinois and the St. Louis region to adopt the ResQCPR System.
