Groundbreaking on a new housing option for college students is expected soon. Phase II of Trailblazer Commons at Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey will be built over the summer if all goes according to plan. The Village of Godfrey has approved changes to an engineering contract to clear the way for the project.
Godfrey Planning and Zoning Administrator Laura Dixon tells The Big Z the new building will be similar in size.

The apartments are located on Elm Street, which is just north of the college in an area not far from Godfrey Congregational Church. Dixon expects the new units to be ready by the fall semester.
