PembrookSouthern Illinois University Edwardsville appears to have a new chancellor lined up.  The SIU Board of Trustees must still confirm the choice, but it appears Dr. Randall Pembrook will become the new leader of the school.  Pembrook is a SIUE graduate, and currently works at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

Pembrook was the top choice of the 21-person search committee that took 9 months to sort through 65 candidates for the post.   He will leave his post as vice president for academic affairs at Washburn, where he has worked since 2011.   He previously served at Baker University and also the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.   Before earning a doctorate in music education from Florida State University, he earned bachelors and masters degrees from SIUE in music education/piano performance and also he earned his associates degree from Lewis and Clark Community College.   Pending formal board approval, he will join the SIUE staff in early August.
