The art community in Calhoun County has come together in recent years to form the Calhoun Art Guild, and one member has taken that a step further to open her own art gallery. Linda Basden is the driving force behind the Stone Bridge Valley Art Gallery on Route 100 between Michael and Kampsville. Launched last year with just the studio part of the facility, the gallery will host its innaugural show in a few weeks.
Starting April 20, the work of John Webster will be on display.
The studio offers equipment and supplies for working with ceramics, paints, clay, jewelry and glass. Classes available include drawing, creating handmade books, dying silk scarves, fusing glass, block printing, and pottery. For more information, call (618) 576-9235.
