More than two-dozen residents at the Catholic Children's Home will join local musician Jay Lipe for dinner at Golden Corral Friday night.  Lipe has been hosting a dinner for these kids for a number of years.  He says he was called to do this to show the children that even though they are away from their families at Christmastime, there are still people that care.

Lipe is also taking donations for toys or sports equipment for the kids.  You can donate at a special concert being held Thursday night at Spirit's Lounge on State Street in Alton.

Tonight's show features Eric Hensley of Autumn Clock, Patrick Read, Ardor Glowing, Jay Lipe and the Terrible 2's, and Nudnik - a Sex Pistol's tribute band made up of former members of The Undecided.  It is a free event, but donations to go toward helping the kids will be accepted at the door.  The show starts at 8pm.
