The Armed Forces Museum is a collection of military vehicles, weapons, uniforms and other memorabilia that has found a new home in Greenville, at the American Heritage Museum along I-70. The final piece left the Alton location on Cut Street last July, but it has been a struggle to unload and set up the displays at the new location.
Volunteers are needed to help with set-up as well as with other tasks, according to the museum's Captain Lee Johnson.
The museum has been around for about 25 years- first housed in St. Louis, then Granite City, and most recently in Alton on Cut Street thanks to a donation of space from Alton Steel. Tickets are now on sale for their biggest fundraiser of the year- the Veteran's Day Raffle. First prize is a camouflage four wheeler, second prize is $1,000, and third prize is a Golden Boy Henry Rifle. Tickets are $10 each. Call 462-5237 for details.
