In the year since human remains were found in the trunk of a car in an Alton neighborhood, speculation has run rampant about the potential identity of the body.  A positive identification is yet to be made, and it could still take a while.  Investigators are still using forensic and DNA evidence to try and figure out who it is.

Alton Police Chief Jason Simmons tells The Big Z this is proof positive that in the real world, investigations don’t follow the TV timeline of wrapping things up in one episode.

The remains were found August 5, 2014 in the 2700 block of Powhatten Street near the intersection with Seminary Street.  If you have any information on the case, call Alton Police at 463-3505.
