A 19-year-old Alton man is charged with numerous felonies, including Attempted First Degree Murder, following what police believe to be nearly three weeks of committing gun related crimes. Police say Brandon McGee of the 1,800 Smith Street shot another man in the head and ankle on Saturday. His alleged victim is hospitalized in St. Louis, but his condition is unknown.
The Saturday incident resulted in charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon. McGee is charged in an incident from August 22 in which he allegedly shot a gun toward a car, and was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon, according to Alton Police Public Information Officer Emily Hejna.
