Students in the Mount Olive School District will be back in class today after a one week teachers strike ended over the weekend.   The Mount Olive Education Association and the Mount Olive School Board met in a five hour negotiating session on Saturday and reached a tentative agreement.  Union members voted to approve the deal on Sunday.

The two sides have not detailed the terms of the contract, but teachers had walked out over a salary and benefits dispute.   The school board is scheduled to meet on Wednesday where it will take up the tentative agreement.  The union has 39 members, and the district serves about 500 students in two schools.  It's located in Macoupin County between Staunton and Litchfield.
