Godfrey's partnership with StraightUp Solar is starting to create more interest in the renewable energy source, according to the head of the village's Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee.  A few "Solarize Godfrey" sessions have been held over the past month, with attendance tripling over the course of those meetings.  There are more meetings planned over the next month

The campaign to buy solar equipment in bulk could mean lower costs for those who choose to make the leap into solar energy at either their home or business.  Nate Keener, Chair of the village's Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee, tells The Big Z they would like to see more businesses represented at these meetings.

The next session will be held May 26th at Godfrey Village Hall, followed by sessions on June 16th at Rolling Hills Golf Course and June 28th at La Vista Ecological Learning Center.  All sessions run from 7-8pm.  For more information, call 466-3381.
