One big Madison County road project could be put on hold at the mid-way point if an IDOT funding shut-down comes to pass. If money isn't freed up by the end of the week, the state has informed local governments utilizing state money their funding will not be available, causing projects around the state to stop.
Locally, that means a number of projects in Alton and the Seminary Street Bridge project in Madison county. The bridge at the bottom of a hill just south of Illinois 255 is about halfway done. Madison County Engineer Mark Gvillo tells The Big Z the work will be grinding to a halt this week.
