After more testing, two buildings at SIU-Edwardsville are still showing high levels of lead in the water.  Two floors of Lovejoy Library and all four floors of Science West came back above the government’s action level after follow-up testing in August prompted by high readings earlier in the month.

In the library, they had a mixed bag of results, so every drinking source in the library is being tested to try and narrow down the source of the contamination, and they expect have an answer back in about a week.  Rich Walker, vice chancellor for administration, tells The Big Z they have brought in an outside consultant to look at the science building.

Samples from the residence halls have tested in the normal range.
