The Godfrey Park and Recreation Department is hoping to add even more amenities at Glazebrook Park on Stamper Lane. Already home to a number of athletic fields, two ponds, and the corn maze each fall, the plan is to use even more of the space that has not been developed, according to Park & Recreation Director Kimberly Caughran.
The funding would come in the form of an OSLAD grant, which the board gave her permission to apply for at last night's meeting. Caughran says they hope to be approved for the grant in the full amount, which would be $400,000. If not, other funding sources would be identified so the burden would not be solely on the taxpayer. The process of applying for and then getting approved for an OSLAD Grant takes about a year.
