Alton Police are investigating a pair of incidents that occurred Monday evening. According to police records, authorities responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Tremont Street at 7:15 p.m. to break up a fight. The victim in that incident, 41-year old Montego Embry was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Four hours later police were dispatched to a convenience store parking lot in Upper Alton after the owner of that residence on Tremont suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Alton Police Public Information Officer Emily Hejna says detectives are still trying to determine if the incidents are connected.

The homeowner, 50-year old Michael Lumpkins Sr. was transported to a local hospital for treatment following the shooting and was later released. No charges have been filed in either incident.
