The Illinois Department of Transportation didn't like the bids that came in for the repairs of the Martin Luther King Bridge over the Mississippi, so now the job is being postponed.  The bridge was supposed to close next month so work could begin on rebuilding the bridge deck, but the bids were higher than expected so now the project is on hold.

IDOT will revise its plan and seek new bids later this year, so the work isn't expected to start until next summer.
