Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster says he's suing the owner of a Bridgeton landfill.  After months of complaints about a foul stench seeping from the site, the Department of Natural Resources conducted tests, and discovered high levels of the irritant hydrogen sulfide.

Koster says a fire has been smoldering underneath the landfill, owned by Phoenix-based Republic Services, for two years. Company officials says they share the same goal as the attorney general, and are already taking steps to reduce the odor.
