Authorities say a minor petroleum spill took place on the Mississippi River near Hartford on Sunday. The U.S. Coast Guard and St. Louis Fire Department responded to the scene around 9:00am near National Maintenance and Repair to assist with the clean up.
Coast Guard officials say the spill was contained with booms and then nature will do the rest. No injuries were reported and state and federal agencies are expected to investigate the incident.
