It wasn't even strong enough to stir the cream in your coffee, but there was an earthquake near St. Louis yesterday. The University of Memphis is reporting a 1.9 magnitude micro-earthquake about four miles south of Columbia, Illinois. It began just before 6:00 Friday morning at a depth of four miles.
Despite the government shut-down, the U.S. Geological Survey is still monitoring earthquakes.
