The Ardent Mills plant on the Alton Riverfront is getting a fresh coat of paint.  Work began a couple of weeks ago to repaint the outside of the structure and perform routine maintenance on the facility.  The work on the base coat of paint should be done by this weekend.

Plant manager Jeff Brasch tells The Big Z the next phase of the work should start in a few days.

Brasch says they began repainting once the city put the flood memorial in, and that's when it became obvious it was time to touch-up the appearance.  He says as best as they can tell, the last time the flag was repainted was somewhere around 1990.
