After selecting a location and a sculptor, the organizers of an effort to bring a Miles Davis memorial statue to Alton are shifting their focus to raising the funds for the planned project. A main component of that fundraiser will depend on gaining public support through the purchase of commemorative bricks.

The bricks will be used to form a plaza around the sculpture and Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau President Brett Stawar says that 12"x12" bricks will cost $75 each.

Stawar says that they will also have bricks that can feature more than three lines of text and the logo of your business or company. Those bricks will cost $400 each. Organizers hope to raise the $150,000 needed to complete the planned project by the end of the year.
