It could lead to, say, Court TV in Illinois. “I’m hoping that public television, for example, has an interest,” says Kilbride. “I think gavel-to-gavel coverage of a trial of interest in a local community would be good for the public to see.”  Kilbride emphasizes this is voluntary; individual circuits would apply to opt in and then determine the minutiae of the local procedures for themselves, within the Supreme Court guidelines.
